2009 KLBA Committees and Assignments

Shows and Fairs -  Randy Corns-Chairman, Chris Campbell, Kyle Dye, Chance Schilling and David Ratliff

Arrange for awards at Kansas State Fair. Arrange for someone to check in cattle at State Fair. Secure emcee for event. Arrange for assistance during the Limousin Show at the Kansas State Fair. Represent KLBA at planning meeting of Kansas State Fair.

KLBA Association Sale  -  Jerry Meek-Chairman, , Ben Meek, Pat Meek

Select date and auctioneer and coordinate with sale barn.  Send out nomination form and rules for members and former buyers. Organize entries, get all information that is needed from sellers.  Get all information for the sale to the printer. Set up all advertising for the sale.  Mail Catalogs. Check cattle in at the sale barn, day before the sale.  Set up the display of cattle on sale day.  Make supplement sheet to the catalog.  Establish sale order for sale day.

News Articles-Heartbeat and Kansas Stockman  - Pat Meek

Write articles for the Heartbeat and Kansas Stockman. Submit articles for KLBA Web Page.  Feature articles from the membership.  Promote Limousin and KLBA thru printed media sources.

Membership/Booth Promotion -  Jim Hays-Chairman, and Pat Meek

Set up booth at major KLBA functions. Keep material up to date for the booth.  Set up booth at KSU Cattlemen’s Day.  Secure materials from NALF for current booth materials. 

Annual KLBA Meeting and Benefit Auction - Gail Ratliff-Chairman, Debbie Crow, Jackie Rolf and Kori Braun

Coordinate with sale committee for date.  Secure motel contract for annual meeting banquet and block of rooms.  Make arrangements for meal function.  Plan for speaker and entertainment if appropriate.  Contact Salina Chamber of Commerce for funds, name badges and other items.  Secure place for annual meeting at either motel or sale barn.  Encourage members and make arrangements for annual benefit auction and secure auctioneer.

Commercial Committee - David Braun-Chairman, Mike Smith, Gene Raymond

Advertising  - Jerry Meek-Chairman, Mel Beikmann, Cash Schilling

Fill out forms needed by NALF for coop advertising and submit by due date.  Design a plan for advertising budget and submit to KLBA Board of Directors.  Place appropriate ads in farm magazines and or radio.

 Web Page  -  Pat Meek

Submit items to Web Page Designer and keep KLBA Web Page up to date.  Publish KLBA and KJLBA activities
